My name is Rolf Ulrich Kramer. I grew up near Mainz, and that's also where I studied psychology. After graduating in 1975, I knew a lot about conditioning theory, client-centred therapy, depth psychology and personality tests, but spirituality and consciousness were completely excluded from the curriculum at the time. Yet these topics interested me more than anything else.
It is through spirituality and consciousness that we organize things, be it our private life, our family or our company. So it is an important matter – where is the answer to be found?
In my search for an answer I plunged into the wave of Far Eastern wisdom that was coming to the West in the 1970s. I soon realized that both Western and Eastern psychology were right in their way but that the ultimate answer was not to be found in either.
What to do? I combined my experiences in Meditation, Yoga, Aikido and Kinesiology with the methodological and psychological principles that I knew from university. Increasingly I focused on providing my clients with the means to help themselves. In doing so, it became clear that a few basic principles were enough to help people make independent progress in their personal development.
The same applied in working with entrepreneurs and executives as long as the talk was not about figures but about people. Workplace tensions seem to ease up all by themselves provided you just listen to the people involved without any prejudices.
Gradually, alongside my work as a psychotherapist I developed my own approach in the areas of personal analysis and coaching. These methods could also be passed on to my clients and trainees. This approach was eventually given the name ‘MindWalking’ in 1996.
As for the question of spirituality and consciousness I have found my personal answer.I wish for everybody to find theirs. Supporting them on their way is my most rewarding experience.
